Q. How much homework should I expect my child to have every evening?
A. We do not assign homework. What becomes homework is really unfinished class work that has already been started in class. Your student should never have more than one hour of unfinished class work daily. If you find that he or she has more than that fairly frequently, please contact the teacher.
Q. Why is my child's backpack so heavy?
A. We do not require them to carry every book in their backpack home. What they need to carry is whatever they must have to complete unfinished class work. Often, when a student has a heavy backpack it is because the student has failed to clean his or her backpack of unnecessary materials.
Q. When will my child bring home a weekly review of his or her assignments and conduct?
A. Fifth grade students will bring home graded papers and a conduct report every Monday that we have school. Please look the items over very carefully, sign and return the folder.
