Student Responsibilities
As a fifth grader it is very important to be organized. Students will work on organizational skills to ensure that the transition to Turner Middle School is successful.
Each student should have a three-inch binder. In that binder they should have in order, a pencil bag, ruler, assignment book, Reading folder, Language Arts folder, Math folder, Science folder, Social Studies Folder, and extra notebook paper. Students are expected to keep all papers in their assigned subject folder. Papers will not be stored in textbooks, backpacks, or lockers. When an assignment is complete the student is told where to place the said assignment. For instance if a Social Studies paper has been completed it will be placed in the Social Studies folder.
In addition, lockers are also to be organized. Students are given set times to take items from their lockers. They are not allowed to return after set time. This is done so as not to disturb others in the class where the locker is located and also to prepare for the next year.
